A fantastic shot of four Heralds on the ramp at Southend. In this view can be seen the tail of G-ASVO when on lease to British Island Airways (BIA), G-BCZG of Air UK and behind it G-BCWE and an unknown machine of BIA. Photo © Richard Vandervord.
A rare colour image depicting Radlett Airfield on 16th July 1965. Besides the Handley Page assembly building, we can see Bristol B.170 G-AMLL, Hastings WD499 and Victor XA927. Two Heralds can be spotted in the distance. The closest is JY-ACR which had returned from Jordan for work before being leased out to British United as G-ATHE and beyond that, G-ARTC, the second prototype which by this time had been withdrawn from use.
